Italy. Calabria. Tarentum. Nomos circa 270-250 BC, AR 22 mm, 6.55 g.
Obverse: The Dioscuri on horseback galloping l., the nearer one with cloak flying in the wind and holding club or spindle; between their heads, monogram ΦΥ, below, between the horses legs, ΣΩΔΑΜΟΣ
Reverse: ΤΑΡΑΣ Phalanthos, nude, riding dolphin l. over waves, holding with his l. hand two spears and small round shield decorated with hippocamp, on his outstretched r. hand, Nike flying off to crown him; in field l., ΓΥ.
