Roman Empire. Constantine II, 337-349. Follis, contemporary imitation of a Trier mint issue. Bronze 2.92 g.; 19 mm.
Excellent quality, extremely rare, probably unique.
This type is a hybrid combining an obverse of Constantine II and a reverse of Constantine I. Mint state MS 65-70
This example with its very fine style could have been authentic, but it is clearly a contemporary imitation because of its error of legend on obverse: "IVN NO C" with retrograde C instead of "IVN NOB C".
