Comment

Splendid specimen of a Sestertius struck during the reign of Caracalla. With an extremely rare type, this specimen is even more exceptional for its state of preservation, which is rarely seen on these bronze coins, making it one of the finest specimens seen in sales and available to private collectors, if not the finest for this type.

This portrait of Caracalla conveys power, severity and seriousness in its engraving, depicted in imperial attire with the drapery, and military uniform with his cuirass.
