Obverse: Bust of Matidia, draped, right; hair coiled and adorned with jewels on the top of head; the front hair is decorated with a double stephanè with a comb and aigret; a pearl necklace around the neck. Obverse caption: MATIDIA AVG DIVAE MARCIANAE • F // Reverse: Matidia standing front, head left, placing her hands on the heads of Sabina and Matidia the younger. Reverse capiton: PIETAS AVGVST •

Very rare and in excellent condition for this issue with a superb high relief portrait of Matidia, elevated to the rank of Augusta, an event celebrated by this issue. Specimen that has unfortunately been mounted, with the edge crushed, and cleaned. Regular wear over the entire flan, characteristic of coins that have been worn as jewellery. Remains of impurities in the relief and headdress. 6h orientation.
