Macedonia. Akanthos. Tetradrachm ca. 470-430 BC. Silver 17.25 g.; 28.5 mm.
Obverse: Lion to right attacking a bull crouching to the left, biting its hindquarters; in exergue fish to the left //
Reverse: In flat incised square around a quadripartite square in relief. Reverse capiton: AKA-N-ΘIO-N

HGC: 3.1-385. AMNG III/2, 21. Desneux 95 and 102 var.

Superb Tetradrachm, one will note just on the obverse a light double strike, and a small die break at the level of the head of the lion. Attic-Euboic standard. Sl. die shift, scratch.
