Very rare. Wonderful specimen struck in high relief and having kept its mint luster. Old cleaning.

Comment

Struck under the reign of Antoninus Pius, this Aureus was one of the issues following the death of the emperor's wife, Faustina I the Elder, who died in 140. These posthumous issues celebrated her divinisation.
