Byzantine Empire. Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus, with Romanus II. AU Solidus, Constantinople 945-946, 4.41 gr., 21 mm.
Obverse: + IhS XPS RЄX-RЄϚNANTIЧm; Christ facing seated on throne with curved back, wearing nimbus cruciger, pallium and colobium, right hand raised in benediction and holding book of Gospels in left //
Reverse: + COhStAhtIhOS CЄ RO-MAh' Єh' Xw b' R'; Constantine VII on the right, bearded, wearing loros with cross on sleeve, and Romanus II, on the left, crowned, standing facing figures of wearing chlamys with cross on front, both on rectangular dais, globus cruciger in outer hand, jointly holding long patriarchal cross with globular terminus between them.
