A rare, well-centered silver Stater in superb condition, with a characteristic archaic style and the beginnings of an iridescent patina in the hollows. A few specimens have been seen for sale in recent years, but our coin remains a rare type. The mix of relief and incuse on the reverse is very interesting, and the reverse lettering on both sides is particularly noteworthy, giving both a blurred and contrasting effect.
